Quilting FAQs

Prepare your quilt by pressing all seams flat. Front and back. 

DO NOT BASTE YOUR QUILT.

Your backing material must be at least 4 inches larger than the quilt on all 4 sides. 

I am happy to piece backing or attach fabrics/leaders if your backing is not large enough. This costs $10/seam. If your top or the backing is directional you will need to mark both the top, back, and center with a message attached. 

You can provide your own batting or purchase from me. If you purchase batting from me, the batting with be a whole piece, not pieced pieces of batting. Remember, DO NOT BASTE!

I have a wide variety of thread options- 174 to be exact. The cost of thread is $15/quilt no matter how much is used. I only stitch with Omni threads.

The options for patterns are endless. If my library doesn't have the pattern you need, I will purchase it if it's available. 

Personalize your work by attaching a label. The price is $15/label and you must supply the fabric. I recommend using the backing. If necessary, I can provide the fabric for the label at a cost of $10. 

Your label will include the following information:

• Quilt Name (ex. Trip Around The World)
• Who made it 
• City, State
• Year

The label will be hand-sewn on the back of the quilt- not embroidered into the backing. 

If preferred, I can do the quilt binding by machine. It is sew on the back and pulled to the front. The cost of this service depends on the size of your quilt, cutting the binding, making the binding, and sewing the binding. 

Upon request, I can hand-bind your quilt. The cost of this depends on the size of the quilt.

Your quilt will be returned to you, ready to sew the binding on. I will ship all excess batting and backing. All trimmings will be returned to you.
